“Its’ Never too Late to Follow Your Dream”

Recently retired from his 25 year career as a local land use consultant, Steven Graves has launched boldly and passionately into his new career as a singer songwriter musician. Fresh off of the release of his second CD, entitled “Outside Looking In”, Steven’s band features some prominent names in the local and regional music scene including Dayan Kai, Tammi Brown, Bill Walker, and Aerial Theirmann.

Proving that “its never too late” to follow your passions and your dreams, Steven at 48 decided it was time to pursue his lifetime passion of his playing, writing and performing his all original music. His debut CD, “Make a New World” was released in June of 2010 and spent five weeks on the Americana Music Chart, peaking at #241. With the help of Powderfinger Promotions the record was added to rotation at 70 radio stations in the US. “Make A New World” was heard worldwide on JANGO Radio. Canadian-American Records, with CEO Joey Welz, signed Steven to release his song “Come on Down” on their label.

In June of 2011, Steven released his new CD an EP titled Outside Looking In. For this release Steven teams up with producer and multi-instrumentalist Dayan Kai and a rocking band of highly skilled veteran players. This six song EP continues to showcase Steven’s talent for combining many genres into a seamless style all his own. This record is being played on 45 radio stations its third week of promotion and is #255 on the Americana Music Chart and #29 on the jambands.com Music Chart.

Steven's unique inspiring sound reflects his roots as a Santa Cruzian, seamlessly blending elements of rock, reggae, country, jazz and blues with his socially conscious lyrical style. The influences of Dylan, Lennon, Marley, Ben Harper and others, who have infused their music with social and political meaning, echo throughout. The masterful way in which Steven combines the wide breadth of musical styles featured on Outside Looking In propels his message into the hearts and minds of all who listen.

Steven says, “I want to make music with danceable rhythms and inspiring lyrics that speak to people at a deep level. I feel compelled to write songs about core beliefs that define who I am. What does it mean to be a human being in these times? How do we find peace on both a personal and global level? Love for oneself, one’s family, one’s community and the world at large. Can we create a world without war? Can we live in the present and take life on even when there is fear? ” Steven continues to deliver these themes with humility and grace.

Building his career on environment stewardship, Steven and his wife Paddy also built the first LEED (Leadership in Environmental and Energy Design) certified development in the State of California and share a passion for green building. They have studied yoga, eastern philosophies, and try to live a healthy organic lifestyle. Steven currently lives in Capitola, California with his wife Paddy Easton Graves, and their two children. He is starting to tour with his band, and also in the studio working on his third CD, which he expects to release in November of 2011.

DAVID RALSTON I Don't Care (GFY Records).
David Ralston has steadily, chapter by chapter, album by album, created much more than just great music. He has evolved and created an entirely new type of ''established international musician.'' The world of music is not just changing - it has changed. Many of the great artists from that previous established music world are collaborating with Ralston as they shift toward the new international music world that he is championing.
For Ralston it's easy, because he is his own product - the songs flow out of him, as do the gritty guitar licks and the inspired vocal growl inflections. Delaney Bramlett came out of retirement for the first and only time since his heyday with Clapton to produce and mentor Ralston and introduce him to that distinctive open, soul-purging passion. But it is David Ralston, and no one else, who emerges in this music.
Living in Japan, Ralston and his international family of artists and fans are creating their own brand of music. You should expect them at your door soon. "I Don't Care" is the follow up to his successful "A Woman That Loves Me" release that hit both the Americana (#252) and Jam Band (#28) Radio Charts in 2011. The world tour is underway. DAYNA KURTZ American Standard (Kismet)
American Standard (Kismet Records) is an expansive new set of songs by Dayna Kurtz - an artist known for her range, power and her uncanny ability to stun live audiences into submission. This musical free spirit has consistently refused to be pinned down by a single style or genre, building an inspired body of work that draws strength from a bottomless wellspring of American jazz, pop, blues, folk and country. The cinematic poetry of her songwriting is matched by the power of her voice, a rich, distinctly resonant instrument that's capable of immense emotional depth.
She recorded half of the album at fabled analog studio Kaleidoscope Sound in New Jersey, before she and her co-producer, Randy Crafton traveled to Memphis' fabled Ardent Studios to cut tracks with Sun Records rockabilly legend Sonny Burgess and the Legendary Pacers, whose members are all in their 70s and 80s and whose last personnel change occurred in 1961. From there, they moved to New Orleans, where they recorded the ebullient "Election Day" with local brass band the Nightcrawlers (recently featured in HBO's Treme).
"I've always been a bit of a genre outlaw." Kurtz states. "But I'm in love with music, not with genres. If it's a great song, it's a great song. The songs I wrote for American Standard, and the songs that I covered for it, were deeply influenced by my recent obsession with collecting 'lost' songs by forgotten singers on regional labels."
In fact, Dayna has found so many of these obscure gems from the mid-century jazz and blues cut-out bins that she compiled her favorites for yet another record released simultaneously on April 10 with American Standard called Secret Canon, Vol. 1 .
Her records have made her a theater headlining star in Europe. This year she brings it stateside - she was asked to perform at Lincoln Center in New York and this May Dayna makes her New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival debut with her band on May 3.

For more than 30 years, Jerry Joseph has been strapping on a guitar and chasing down truth, understanding and soul with a tenacity and resonant skill that mark him as a hard charging kindred spirit to Joe Strummer, Warren Zevon and Patti Smith. While not a household name or critic's darling, Joseph is the archetypal musician's musician, something resoundingly clear on his sweeping new double album, Happy Book. Captured with muscle and blood by Joseph's longtime trio The Jackmormons, this latest chapter in his long, strange journey flows like glowing quicksilver through the modern psyche. Happy Book presents The  Jackmormons at their most diverse and confident, a record with a wide swing that dexterously moves from whisper closeness to Technicolor expansiveness. Many of the songs on Happy Book were written in Mexico right after Joseph's father passed away but then left wide-open so the band could be part of the writing process, producing an emotional and sonic wallop fueled by the tightest, tastiest playing Joseph (guitar, lead vocals), JR Ruppel (bass, backing vocals) and Steve Drizos (drums, backing vocals) have ever captured in the studio.
