High School Fall Season Awards!

It has been an amazing high school 2011 fall sports season in Massachusetts. Some of the biggest honors this year go out to the The Georgetown Girls soccer team who through 3 playoff games did not allow a goal responded to St. Mary's goal with 5 unanswered scores to capture the division 3 north girls title. 
The Hopedale Blue Raiders girls soccer team earned there first state to the division 3 state final since 2005 after a 2-0 victory over undefeated Lenox, but Dover-Sherborn walked away with the division 3 state championship after routing Hopedale 2-1 on Friday November 18th 2011. 
On Saturday November 19th 2011, Auburn took down Canton 1-0 to clinch the DIvision 2 Girls Soccer Title, The Rockets finished the season undefeated. The title was the first state title for the Auburn Girls. 
on Friday November 18th The Ludlow Boys Soccer team clinched the division 1 state championship taking down Masconomet with a score of 2-1, and Sutton took down Georgetown 3-1 to clinch the Division 3 state title.
Also on Friday November 18th The Peabody girls soccer team took down East Longmeadow 1-0 Friday November 18th to win the division 1 girls state title.
The Groton-Dunstable boys soccer squad took down Concord-Carlisle 2-0 to capture the division 2 state title on Saturday November 19th. 
Girls Volleyball rapped up on Saturday November 19th 2011 Barnstable took down Central Catholic for the Division 1 title, The Marlborough Panthers took down Melrose for the division 2 title and Frontier took down case for the Division 3 state title in girls volleyball. 
Honorable Mentions go out to Andrea O' Brien of the Peabody girls soccer team as she closed out her season with 34 goals making her the highest scorer in Massachusetts for the 2011 season.
Masconomet J.R. Charlie May won his first individual division 2 state title in high school golf this sports season.
The Hudson Hawks won the Mid-wachusett B Golf Championship.
Randolph goaltender Emily Wilson had 10 straight shout outs as goalie to help the Randolph Field hockey team to their first state tournament. Oh and even more impressive Goalkeeper Emily Wilson was a backup goalie who filled in for starter Olivia Biles.
A big congrats this year to Everett Graduate Matt Costello won were one of the winners for the 2011 National Football Foundation High School-Scholar athlete awards.
The Auburn High School Foootball team won a 41 game winning streak into this season before losing to Shepard Hill Regional High School on Friday October 7th, but one of the biggest winning streaks ever in Massachusetts High School history by Auburn High School with 41 straight wins. 
Quarter Back Jonathan Dibiaso of Everett High School broke the all time state passing record in his highschool career after throwing six touchdown passes against Medford on Friday October 28th. Dibiaso after that game had 85 straight touchdown passes breaking Tom Colombo's state record for the most touchdown passes in a high school career. 
The Hopedale Boys Cross Country team won the Dual Valley Conference championship meet at Nipmuc as Matt Doran, Paul Maurais and Chris Kivor finished 3rd, 4th and 5th.

High School Football week 9

WMRC’s High School game of the week featured the Mansfield Hornets and the Franklin Panthers. Mansfield shut out Franklin 27-0. Greg Donahue was your player of the game as he rushed for 125 yards and 1 touchdown. Mike Blackman hauled in a 40 yard touchdown pass from George Busharis in the third quarter as the 8-1, 5th ranked team in the state Mansfield Hornets remain on top of the Kelly Rex in the Hockomock. Mansfield is now ranked as the number #4 team in the state.
In other Kelly-Rex action #15 in the state King Phillip took Down Attleboro 41-7. 
Wachusett shut out Milford last night 28-0. Milford drops to 3 and 6 in there 5th straight loss and plays St-Johns Shrewsbury on the road next Saturday at 1pm. Wachusett is 4 and 5 on the season.
In other Mid-Wach action Leominster defeated Shrewsbury 27-14, Marlborough shut out Westborough 36-0, Nashoba over Hudson 24-7 and North Middlesex took down Algonquin 33-7. 
In Tri-Valley play Millis-Hopedale improved too 8 and 1 as they rolled over Bellingham 48-6, Holliston is on top of the TVL Large as they beat up on Medway 41-12, Hopkinton defeated Medfield 27-7 and Norton defeated Ashland 31-7. 
Last Week Everett’s Jonathan DiBiaso threw for 6 touchdown passes in a 41-14 victory over Medford to set the state record for touchdown passes. Dibiasso has 90 touchdown passes in his high school career heading into Everett’s week 9 matchup.
--The Milford Youth Cheerleading U15 and U13 teams will compete this month at the regional competition in Worcester.

Auburn rolled up nearly 500 yards on the ground and dismantled visiting St. Peter-Marian to win its 40th consecutive game. Dan Flink and Bob Sivret each scored twice for the Rockets.
