Results From High School Playoff Basketball Last Night
Boys:
Millis eliminates Community Academy of Science and Health 67-46. Millis advances to Play at Holbrook Wednesday in South Division 4 bracket.
Fitchburg eliminates Tantasqua with a 75-64 victory and advances to play at Holy Name Thursday in Central Division 1 bracket.
Also in Central Division 1 Bracket Marlboro takes down North Middlesex 57-56 in overtime. Marlboro advances to play St. Peter Marian on Thursday at Assumption College.
In Central Division 3 Bracket Southbridge takes down West Boylston 55-54 and Southbridge advances to play at Worcester Tech.
In Boys Central Division 2 bracket 7 games Monday Night Nipmuc defeated Uxbridge 68-60 in over time. Nipmuc advances to play Lunenburg on Thursday, Lunenburg took down Narragansett 68-47.
10 Seed St. Bernards upset 7 seed Bartlett 84-75 and advances to play 15 seed Gardner who upset 2 seed Northbridge 61-52, 12 seed Grafton upset 5 seed Clinton 47-46 and Grafton will play 4 seed Groton-Dunstable who defeated 13 Seed Hudson 64-53, 9 Seed Oxford upset 8 Seed Auburn in Overtime 52-52 and Oxford advances to play 1 seed Quabbin on Thursday. 7 Games in Central Division 2 Boys 5 upsets.

In Girls south division 1, it will be Taunton @ Franklin Tomorrow Night as on Monday Taunton 17 seed upset Weymouth 60-56. On the other side of south division 1 bracket 15 seed West Roxbury gets shut down by 18 seed Whitman-Hanson 51-29 and 14 Seed Dartmourth takes down Plymouth South 49-37.
Tomorrow night we have Girls South Division 2 action as Walpole takes on Hopkinton Girls on WMRC, last night in South Division 2 18 Seed Hingham took down 15 seed Sandwich 69-56 and 17 seed Sharon took out 16 seed Silverlake 50-28.
Girls Central Division 3 action 16 seed Southbridge took down 17 seed Whitinsville Christian 58-51.

The winner of tonights game will be at 1 seeded Holy Name Friday Night at 7pm. The Lady Hawks are riding a 2 game winning streak, taking down Algonquin and St. Peter Marian in back to back games to clinch a playoff spot. Senior running back Tre Watson carried 19 times for 71 hard-fought yards and scored two touchdowns, including the decisive one, to lead the visiting Guardians.

---Some High School Football action took place Thursday this week as Millis-Hopedale knocked down Ashland 39-7, Framingham took down Braintree 36-6, Westboro beat up on North-Middlesex 47-20, Franklin lost to Foxboro 29-21, Holliston crushed Bellingham 51-30 and Medway took down Norton 35-6.
---In Fridays action Nashoba took down Marlborough 26-17, Narragansett took down West Boylston 21-14
---Auburn’s 41 game winning streak came to an end as they fell to Shepard Hill 32-22.
--In vocational School action Blackstone Valley took down Keefe Tech 35-20.

The Milford defense shuts down Westborough High School 14-0
St Johns-Shrewsbury (3-1) - 21 Wachusett (1-3) - 7
Drew Ortone caught a 46-yard touchdown pass and returned an interception 75 yards for another score while Connor Kurtz threw two touchdown passes to lead the host Pioneers past the Mountaineers. Kurtz connected with freshman Taquar Stewart for a 29-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter to put St. John's up, 21-0. Sammy Rivera scored a 5-yard touchdown for Wachusett.
St. Peter-Marian improves to 3-1 as they knock Algonquin down to 1-3 in an offensive explosion 46-25
Greater Lawrence (3-1) - 20 Brighton (1-2) - 6
Jonathan Montero's 33-yard touchdown run broke a scoreless tie in the second quarter, and Christian Rivera's 45-yard interception return extended the lead for the Reggies. Bengals' Jonathan Marrero fired a 51-yard TD strike to Damian Robinson in the fourth quarter. Rivera added a 24-yard touchdown run to seal the victory.

The Wildcats opened with a 32-yard field goal, but didn't score again. The Rebels' Tom Donnellan threw a 54-yard pass to David Thibault, one of Donnellan's three TDs. He finished with 202 passing yards. Shane Blass carried the ball 13 times for 122 yards and one touchdown.

Auburn rolled up nearly 500 yards on the ground and dismantled visiting St. Peter-Marian to win its 40th consecutive game. Dan Flink and Bob Sivret each scored twice for the Rockets.

The Milford Scarlet Hawks took down the Leominster Blue Devils for the 1st time since there 2006 Super Bowl season this past Friday. Milford QB Steve Morganelli only went 2 for 6 and threw for 12 yards but the highlights came from Kick Returner Jarrod Casey returning 2 kickoffs for touchdowns. (82 Yards and 75 yard kickoff returns for touchdowns). A touchdown pass from Garrett DelleChiaie to Josh Caouette and a 2 point conversion would give Leominster a late 20-19 lead but a botched snap on a punt from Leominster would allow Milford to score a safety to come out on top and improve to 2-1 (1-0).

Brian D'Amore had three touchdowns and Sam Tawa had two as the Warriors crushed the Clockers.

The Mowhawks' offense put up a touchdown per quarter while the defensive line shut down the Lancers. Jim Perkins ran 25 times for 225 yards, including 36- and 71-yard touchdown dashes. Perkins also connected with Ian Strom for a 42-yard TD pass.
